Healthy adaptability

Adaptability – the key to health and longevity

Recent research has shown that the better the body’s ability to adapt to its environment, the better its health. The human body’s external and internal conditions are always changing. It is working non-stop to maintain a stable internal physiological state. This process is called homeostasis. Maintaining homeostasis (health) is fundamentally the result of how well the body can adapt to the constantly changing conditions it is exposed to. Various systems play a role in the body’s process of maintaining this balanced state. One, however, is of utmost importance; the Nervous System. Ensuring optimal Nervous System function is paramount when pursuing health and longevity.
Breath Work
There are many different breathing techniques such as Resonant Frequency breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, pranayama etc. A few minutes a day can make a big difference.
Try to maintain good posture throughout your day, especially if you are working on a computer, using mobile phones a lot etc.
Chiropractic Care
Get adjusted regularly.
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” -The Bhagavad Gita
Start the day with a mindfulness exercise like a gratitude journal. Dedicate time to meditation in the morning or to wind down at night. Find resources here:
Being in nature
Go for a walk, swim in the ocean, sit under a tree, do gardening, gaze at the stars etc.

Covid measures for Chiropractors

New Advice regarding Health Professionals wearing masks

The Australian Chiropractors has recently updated its advice to Chiropractors in line with other New South Wales Health Professionals.

“Wearing a mask is not currently mandatory in NSW for Chiropractors in private practice but is strongly encouraged where appropriate physical distancing cannot be maintained e.g. when providing hands-on treatment to a patient. Patients should be encouraged to wear a face mask or covering as well where possible although this is not compulsory”. Please note; please bring your own mask with you, should you choose to wear one.

Wenban Chiropractic open and ready to help.

Recognising the considerable health challenges we are currently facing, we would like to inform you that we have received the following information from the Health authorities:

In light of some states shutting down ‘non-essential services’, the Minister has confirmed that ALL allied health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so.

The Minister has also indicated that the Department of Health is now developing full allied health telehealth options, along with other health and medical services, within the week. This will be part of a staged plan and he encourages providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible.

Wenban Chiropractic remains fully operational to provide you with Gentle, safe and effective Chiropractic care.

Michael, Clara and the entire team are committed in supporting you through this time. We would like to ensure you that we follow the highest standard of infection control and hygiene practices. We have also made adjustments to the way we manage the reception area to minimise the crossover of patients. The focus of Chiropractic care is to detect dysfunctional areas in the spine. We then work to correct these subluxations to restore the healthiest function of the spine and nervous system possible. The goal is to enable the body to function to its optimal potential and we believe that now is as important time as any to be feeling energetic and moving well.

We are all currently tending to important and urgent challenges, however we would like to encourage you to follow your individual Chiropractic care needs. If you are concerned about what this current situation means for your Chiropractic care, please give us a call we would love to discuss this with you.

We are following the advice of the Government Department of Health closely and will keep you updated of any changes as time goes on.

Take care of yourself, your family and friends. Keep encouraging others to continue healthy habits in all respects.

We believe that improving the health status of every individual will positively affect the overall health outcomes for our communities.

Yours in health,

Dr Michael Wenban
